I’m Erin Porter, Self Regulation Specialist and Autism Family Coach.
While working in education for 28 years, I watched autism families struggle with sleeping, eating, toileting, behaviour and independence while working harder than ever to help their child.
Families were often told to treat each challenge separately. What I came to understand is that these aren’t always separate challenges. They’re often connected by one missing foundation: self-regulation.
That understanding changed the course of my career.
What began as a Facebook community supporting parents eventually became the Guided Autism Program. As I worked with more and more families, the pattern became impossible to ignore. Children weren’t lacking potential. They were stuck.
Then I met Jenny Roberts, a retired Australian Occupational Therapist with 40 years of experience working directly with families affected by autism in their homes. Although we came from opposite sides of the world, we had arrived at the same conclusion: meaningful change happens where life happens—at home.
Today, Jenny and I bring 70 years of combined experience to families across North America. Together, we’ve built a different approach—one that helps families create the conditions where self-regulation can emerge, independence can grow, and home life can finally begin to feel possible again.
Jenny, Family Autism Coach | Guided Autism Program (G.A.P.)
I’m Jenny Roberts, Occupational Therapist and Autism Family Coach.
For more than 40 years, I have worked alongside families living with autism. It began with a degree in Occupational Therapy and a quiet realization: traditional therapy wasn’t enough. Parents were still overwhelmed. Children were still struggling. Something was missing.
So I moved beyond the clinic and into family homes.
For 25 years, I have lived alongside families, helping them navigate the realities of daily life and supporting them through change where it matters most. Over time, I began to see the same pattern again and again: when the right support shows up in the right environment, families begin to see what is possible.
The home is where change happens.
When I met Erin Porter, I knew immediately that we shared the same philosophy. We had come to the same conclusion from opposite sides of the world: families need support where life is actually happening, not just where services are delivered.
Together, we built the 3·3·3 Program. Together, we walk alongside families as they create lasting change at home.
